Montcel is a French commune of 504 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Georges-de-Mons ( Combronde until 2015 ).
geography
Montcel is located about 13 kilometers north-northwest of Riom and about 24 kilometers north-northwest of Clermont-Ferrand . Montcel is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Hilaire-la-Croix in the north and north-west, Jozerand in the east and north-east, Combronde in the south and Charbonnières-les-Vieilles in the west and south-west.
