Clermont ( Occitan Clarmont ) is a French commune in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Aquitaine ). The municipality is located in the south of the department and has 773 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and belongs to the canton of Coteau de Chalosse (until 2015 Montfort-en-Chalosse ) within the Dax arrondissement . The inhabitants are called Clermontois .

geography

Clermont is about ten kilometers southeast of Dax . The Luy limits the community in the northeast. Clermont is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Sort-en-Chalosse in the north and northwest, Garrey in the north, Ozourt in the east, Pomarez in the southeast, Estibeaux in the south and Mimbaste in the west.
