The 1981/82 Copa del Rey was the 78th edition of the Spanish Football Cup .

The competition started on August 30, 1981 and ended with the final on April 13, 1982 in the Nuevo Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla in Valladolid, which had opened two months earlier . The defending champion of the cup competition was FC Barcelona . Real Madrid won the title by beating Sporting Gijón 2-1 in the final . This qualified the Madrilenians for the European Cup Winners' Cup 1982/83 .
