coat of arms
Blazon : “The coat of arms is divided and split into two fields at the top. In field one in silver a red cross. In field two in green a silver wavy band running obliquely to the left, overlaid diagonally with a golden shepherd's staff. Below in gold a hanging green bunch of grapes with two green leaves. " | |
Justification of the coat of arms: The red cross in silver is the emblem of Kurtrier , whose possession chasuble belonged from the Middle Ages to the Napoleonic era. The silver wavy band in green represents the Ruwer . The shepherd's crook points to the Trier women's abbey in Oeren-St. Irminen , who owned court estates in Kasel as well as the St. Paulin Abbey in Trier and held basic jurisdiction . The grape indicates viticulture , which has determined the economic development of the municipality from the Middle Ages until today. |
