Niendorf ad St. or Niendorf / Stecknitz is a municipality in the Duchy of Lauenburg in Schleswig-Holstein . She belongs to the Breitenfelde office .
history
The village was mentioned for the first time in the Isfried partition contract of 1194. Niendorf was a manor for a long time, but the highest sovereign was the Hanseatic city of Lübeck . Due to the comparison of 1747 in Hanover, the place fell to the Duchy of Lauenburg . The landlords were the Scharpenbergs (in the Middle Ages and again around 1640), the barons of Albedyll and, most recently, Maximilian Theodor Metzener, who sold the estate to the district in 1928. In 1928 the rural community was also united with the manor district. In 1993 the place won the title “Most beautiful village in the Duchy of Lauenburg”.
politics

Mayor is Wolfgang Herzog. Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the voting community AAEFNW has six seats and the voting community DNBN three since the local elections in 2018.
coat of arms
Blazon : “In red two upright crossed silver swords. In the corner between the blades a silver monogram showing the openwork figure of a heraldic lily . "
The coat of arms is the family coat of arms of the last owner family of the local estate. The swords symbolize, although they come from the coat of arms of a branch line of the last already bourgeois owner family, which themselves have no connection with the place, the jurisdiction that was exercised by a long chain of aristocratic rulers of the manor. One possible interpretation for the lily is that of a monogram of the initial letters of all the owner families since 1653 (von Wanken, von Erlenkamp, von Scheell, von Albedyll, von Taube, Lamprecht and Metzener).
flag
Blazon : "On white flag cloth, bordered by a wide blue stripe at the top and bottom, the municipal coat of arms in flag-appropriate tinging between two horizontal red stripes one third of the length of the flag cloth."
