history
Ziethen was first mentioned in a document as Cithene in the Isfried partition contract of 1194. In it, the entire village is transferred to the chapter of the Ratzeburg Cathedral . The parish of Ziethen, on the other hand, remained part of the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Mecklenburg until 1998, but was administered by the Schleswig-Holstein Regional Church and then by the North Elbian Church since 1954 .
