Champs is a French municipality with 399 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Georges-de-Mons (until 2015: canton of Combronde ).

geography

Champs is about 18 kilometers north of Riom and about 30 kilometers north of Clermont-Ferrand . Champs is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Quintin-sur-Sioule and Ébreuil in the north, Gannat and Saint-Priest-d'Ancelot in the northeast, Vensat in the east, Saint-Agoulin in the southeast, Joserand in the south, Saint-Hilaire-la- Croix in the west and south-west and Marcillat in the north-west.
