Blazon : “Divided by blue and gold. Above an oak branch consisting of a leaf and two fruits between two ears of grain covered with awning, below a bridge made of granite blocks and above with a black iron railing in confused colors. "

The division of the municipality's coat of arms into two equal halves refers to the merger of the villages of Kleinsolt and Kleinwolstrup in 1974 to form a municipality with the name of Freienwill. The new community is not called after one of the original communities, but has adopted the traditional name of a residential area in the Kleinwolstrup district. Agriculture is represented by the ears of corn . To this day it forms the essential economic basis for the community. The district of Kleinsolt is located on the Kielstau, over which the historic granite ashlar bridge shown in the coat of arms below leads in the local area. The oak branch characterizes the Kleinwolstrup district as the forest area of the municipality. The shield colors gold and blue not only stand for the grain harvest and the water of the Au, but are also the traditional colors of the Schleswig region .
