The district of Rottenburg an der Laaber , officially the district of Rottenburg adLaaber , belonged to the Bavarian administrative district of Lower Bavaria . Its former area is now largely in the Landshut district .

history
district Court
In 1838, as a result of an administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria , the district court of Rottenburg an der Laaber was established. Municipalities from the surrounding district courts were assigned to this.
District Office
The district office of Rottenburg an der Laaber was formed in 1862 through the merger of the district courts of the older order Mainburg and Rottenburg an der Laaber.
In 1875 the district office Mallersdorf was enlarged by the municipalities of the district office Rottenburg an der Laaber.
On January 1, 1891, the municipalities of the Rottenburg an der Laaber district office moved to the Mallersdorf district office.
In 1901 the area around Mainburg was detached from the Rottenburg an der Laaber district office. In Mainburg, a separate district office was established from these communities.
On April 1, 1927, the district office of Rottenburg an der Laaber was enlarged by the municipalities of Laaberberg , Obereulenbach and Rohr in Lower Bavaria of the Kelheim district office .

On January 1, 1939, the uniform designation Landkreis was introduced in the German Reich . The district office became the Rottenburg an der Laaber district.
On July 1, 1972, the Rottenburg an der Laaber district was dissolved as part of the regional reform in Bavaria :
- The communities Adlhausen , Herrngiersdorf , Laaberberg , Langquaid , Leitenhausen , Niederleierndorf , Obereulenbach , Oberleierndorf , Paring , Rohr in Niederbayern, Sandsbach , Semerskirchen , Sittelsdorf and Wildenberg moved to the Kelheim district .
- The communities of Allersdorf and Wahlsdorf moved to the district of Regensburg .
- All other communities were added to the Landshut district.

License Plate
On July 1, 1956, the district was assigned the distinctive sign ROL when the vehicle registration number that is still valid today was introduced . It was issued until April 30, 1973. Since July 10, 2013, it has been available again in the Kelheim district due to the license plate liberalization , and again in the Landshut district since July 25, 2014.
