Mairie Fournets-Luisans

Four-Luisans is a French municipality with 699 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Doubs in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .

geography

Fournets-Luisans is located at 910 m above sea level, seven kilometers northwest of Morteau and about 44 kilometers east of the city of Besançon (as the crow flies). The municipality extends in the Jura , on a plateau between the Vennes basin in the north and the Haut-Doubs in the south.

The area of the 27.71 km² municipal area covers a section of the French Jura. The main part of the area is taken up by the low relief plateau of Les Fournets , which averages 900 m. It shows a loose structure of meadow and forest and has no above-ground watercourses because the rainwater seeps into the karst subsoil. To the south, the municipality extends over the undulating highlands with the Bois des Prés Juan to the foot of Mont Tantillon and to the edge of the Gilley plateau. At 1049 m, the highest point of Fournets-Luisans is reached on a hill near Le Luisans. In the north, the community area extends over an almost 200 m high step down into the agriculturally used Vennes basin. This is subdivided by various dry valleys that topographically belong to the Dessoubre catchment area .

The community consists of various hamlets and numerous individual farms, including:

  • Les Fournets (908 m) on the Les Fournets plateau south of the Vennes basin
  • Grandfontaine (723 m) in a dry valley in the Vennes basin
  • Le Luisans (860 m) in a hollow on the plateau of Les Fournets
  • La Racine (939 m) on the plateau south of the Bois des Prés Juan

Neighboring municipalities of Fournets-Luisans are Vennes , Guyans-Vennes and Fuans in the north, Le Bélieu and Les Fins in the east, Morteau , Les Combes and Gilley in the south and Orchamps-Vennes in the west.

history

Since the time of the French Revolution , Les Fournets and Grandfontaine formed the twin community of Grandfontaine-Fournets . In 1972 the previously independent Le Luisans was incorporated, with the municipality changing its name to Fournets-Luisans. Since 1998, Fournets-Luisans has been a member of the Communauté de communes du Pays de Pierrefontaine-Vercel, which comprises 44 localities .

On January 1, 2009, the arrondissement membership of the municipality was changed. Previously belonging to the Arrondissement Besançon , all municipalities of the canton came to the Arrondissement Pontarlier.

Attractions

There are two 19th century churches at Les Fournets and Le Luisans. In the various villages, numerous farmhouses from the 18th and 19th centuries have been preserved in the traditional style of the Haut-Doubs.
