geography
Adam-lès-Vercel is located 666 m above sea level, four kilometers northeast of Valdahon and about 29 km east-southeast of the city of Besançon (as the crow flies). The street line village extends in the Jura , on the eastern edge of the plateau of Valdahon, the so-called first plateau of the Jura, at the foot of the ridge of the Mont de Goux .
The area of the 3.19 km² large municipality covers a section of the French Jura. The north-western part of the area is occupied by the low relief high plateau of Valdahon, which is an average of 650 m. It is predominantly made up of arable and meadow land, partly also of forest. The plateau has no above-ground watercourses because the rainwater seeps into the karstified subsoil . Neighboring municipalities of Adam-lès-Vercel are Vercel-Villedieu-le-Camp in the north and east, Épenoy in the south and Chevigney-lès-Vercel in the west.

Economy and Infrastructure
Adam-lès-Vercel was a village dominated by agriculture (arable farming, fruit growing and cattle breeding) and forestry until well into the 20th century. Even today, the residents live mainly from their work in the first sector. Outside the primary sector there are no jobs in the village. Many workers are also commuters who work in the surrounding larger towns.
The village is located off the main thoroughfares near a departmental road that leads from Valdahon to Baume-les-Dames . Another road connection is with Épenoy.
