Meilhan ( Occitan : Melhan ) is a French municipality with 1140 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Meilhan belongs to the Arrondissement of Dax and the canton of Pays Morcenais Tarusate (until 2015: canton of Tartas-Est ). The inhabitants are called Meilhanais .

geography

Meilhan is about 33 kilometers northeast of Dax . The Midouze limits the municipality to the north. Meilhan is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Yaguen in the north and northwest, Saint-Martin-d'Oney in the northeast, Campagne in the east, Le Leuy in the southeast, Souprosse in the south, Tartas in the southwest and Carcarès-Sainte-Croix in the west.
