Peugeot type 1583

The Peugeot Type 1583 is a car model of the French car manufacturer Peugeot , of which 2550 copies were produced at the Paris plant from 1927 to 1929 .

The vehicles had a four-cylinder four - stroke engine with 1615 cm³ displacement , which was arranged at the front and powered the rear wheels via cardan shafts.

There were models 1583 and 1583 B. With a wheelbase of 292 cm and a track width of 129.4 cm, the vehicle length was 435 cm, the vehicle width 150 cm and the vehicle height 200 cm. The body shape of the delivery van offered space for two people, the minibus for ten people, and the shuttle car for seven to eight people.

The four-digit type designation, which is atypical for a Peugeot model from the 1920s, has its origin in the fact that it is a commercial vehicle chassis.
