The transmission tower Hardberg is a transmission tower of the Hessischer Rundfunk for VHF radio and directional radio that was built on the Hardberg (Odenwald) near Abtsteinach .

The Hardberg transmission tower, built in steel frame construction in 1988, weighs 130 t, is 135 m high and has a base area of ​​12 m × 12 m. The transmitter location was put into operation in 1951 by the Hessischer Rundfunk. A 115 m high tubular mast, which was erected in 1951, stood at this point until 1988.

Digital radio (DAB +)

The Hessian radio will begin broadcasting the DAB multiplex 'hr Radio' on channel 7B at the end of 2015. The renovation work on the antennas ran from August 10 to October 16, 2015.
