The transmission tower Hardberg is a transmission tower of the Hessischer Rundfunk for VHF radio and directional radio that was built on the Hardberg (Odenwald) near Abtsteinach .
The Hardberg transmission tower, built in steel frame construction in 1988, weighs 130 t, is 135 m high and has a base area of 12 m × 12 m. The transmitter location was put into operation in 1951 by the Hessischer Rundfunk. A 115 m high tubular mast, which was erected in 1951, stood at this point until 1988.

Digital radio (DAB +)
The Hessian radio will begin broadcasting the DAB multiplex 'hr Radio' on channel 7B at the end of 2015. The renovation work on the antennas ran from August 10 to October 16, 2015.
The broadcast of the HR mux began on the evening of October 19, 2015, and the federal mux was activated on November 2, 2015.
Analog television (PAL)
Until analogue broadcasting of television programs was switched off in Hesse on May 29, 2006, the following program was broadcast from here using the PAL broadcast method:
