Idstedt ( Danish : Isted ) is a municipality in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . In addition to Idstedt, the municipality of Idstedt includes the villages of Idstedt Kirche, Idstedtholzkrug ( Isted Kro ), Idstedtosterfeld, Idstedtwege, Idstedtwesterfeld and Röhmke ( Rømmek ).
Geography and traffic
Idstedt is about ten kilometers north of Schleswig . The federal highway 7 runs to the west to Flensburg , south the federal highway 201 to Husum . The place is surrounded by several lakes. The Idstedter Gehege and the Grüder Holz are located in the municipality .
history
The oldest relic of the past is the passage grave Idstedter den of thieves . The first written mention of the place comes from 1196.
Idstedt is one of the historical places in the Duchy of Schleswig . The Erdbuch of . Waldemar II saw in 1231 the southern part of the duchy as Istathesyssel , named after Idstedt: A Syssel was an administrative unit in Jutland .
In the Middle Ages Idstedt had a common church with Stolk , but it was closed again before the Reformation . Since then, Idstedt has been part of the parish of St. Michaelis in Schleswig .
In recent history, the place has become known primarily through the battle of Idstedt on July 24th and 25th, 1850. The Idstedt Museum keeps memories alive.
On January 1, 2007, the Idstedt municipality with the neighboring municipality of Neuberend left the Schuby office and, as part of the Schleswig-Holstein administrative structural reform, merged with the municipalities of the Tolk and Böklund offices to form the Südangeln office based in Böklund .
