Jodey Cook Arrington (born March 9, 1972 in Plainview , Texas ) is an American politician . Since January 3, 2017, he has been representing the state of Texas in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Jodey Arrington graduated from Plainview High School in Texas and then studied political science and public administration at Texas Tech University until 1997 . Professionally, he worked as Chief of Staff to the President of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation . To this day he heads Scott Laboratories, Incorporated .

Politically, he joined the Republican Party . He served as an advisor to George W. Bush during his tenure as governor of Texas and during the Bush presidency . In 2014 he ran unsuccessfully for the State Senate . In the 2016 congressional election , Arrington in the 19th constituency of Texas was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC without a Democratic candidate , where he succeeded Randy Neugebauer , who had not run in 2016, on January 3, 2017 . After being re-elected in 2018, he can continue to exercise his office today. Its current legislative period runs until January 3, 2021 with the option of a further candidacy in 2020.
