Robert Quincy Lee

Robert Quincy Lee (born January 12, 1869 in Coldwater , Tate County , Mississippi , †  April 18, 1930 in Washington, DC ) was an American politician . In 1929 and 1930 he represented the state of Texas in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Robert Lee attended his home public schools and Fort Worth High School in Texas. In 1891 he moved to Caddo with his father , where he worked in commerce. Since 1913 Lee lived in Cisco , where he worked in agriculture and especially in the field of cattle breeding. He also got into the banking industry. In 1919 he founded the Cisco & Northeastern Railroad Co. , of which he was president between 1919 and 1927. He also served as President of the West Texas Chamber of Commerce in 1926 and 1927.

Politically, Lee was a member of the Democratic Party . In the 1928 congressional elections , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington in the 17th  electoral district of Texas, where he succeeded Thomas L. Blanton on March 4, 1929 . He was able to exercise this mandate until his death on April 18, 1930. After that, his predecessor Blanton was also elected as his successor. Robert Lee was buried in Cisco.
