Choice B. Randell

Choice Boswell Randell (born January 1, 1857 in Spring Place , Murray County , Georgia , †  October 19, 1945 in Sherman , Texas ) was an American politician . Between 1901 and 1913 he represented the state of Texas in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Choice Randell attended both public and private schools in his home country as well as the North Georgia Agricultural College at Dahlonega . After a subsequent law degree and his admission as a lawyer in 1878, he began to work in Denison (Texas) in this profession. In 1882 he moved his office and residence to Sherman. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party .

In the 1900 congressional election , Randell was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the fifth constituency of Texas , where he succeeded Joseph Weldon Bailey on March 4, 1901 . After five re-elections, he was able to complete six legislative terms in Congress by March 3, 1913 . Since 1903 he represented the fourth district of his state as the successor to Morris Sheppard . In 1912 he unsuccessfully sought his party's nomination for election to the US Senate .

After the end of his time in the US House of Representatives, Randell withdrew from politics. In the following years he practiced as a lawyer again. Choice Randell died in Sherman on October 19, 1945. He was the nephew of Congressman Lucius Jeremiah Gartrell (1821-1891) from Georgia.
