Dale Milford (born February 18, 1926 in Bug Tussle , Fannin County , Texas , †  December 26, 1997 in Howe , Texas) was an American politician . Between 1973 and 1979 he represented the state of Texas in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Dale Milford attended public schools in his home country. Between 1944 and 1953 he served in the US Army during the final stages of World War II and the time of the Korean War . He made it to the captain. Between 1953 and 1957 Milford studied at Baylor University in Waco . In the following years he was a meteorologist . At the same time he ran his own airline. Milford also became an aviation and meteorological advisor. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . In 1972 he was a delegate to the Texas Democratic Regional Convention.

In the 1972 congressional elections , Milford was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the then newly established 24th constituency of Texas , where he took up his new mandate on January 3, 1973. After two re-elections, he was able to complete three legislative terms in Congress by January 3, 1979 . During this time the end of the Vietnam War and the Watergate Affair fell . In 1978 Milford was no longer nominated for re-election by his party. He died in Howe on December 26, 1997.
