Merovingian burial fields include burial fields from the Merovingian era, i.e. the period between the 5th and 8th centuries. The graves of this era are characterized by numerous grave goods, especially in parts of Europe that were populated by Germanic people. Extensive grave fields with rich grave goods represent important archaeological sources and can be found in the southern and western parts of Germany and other countries in the Rhine area.
