description
At the transmitter Bovenden is a type tower type FMT 2. It is used according to an information board of Deutsche Telekom , which is mounted in the entrance area, the broadcast FM radio, radio, mobile telephone ( D1 ), Euro signal and Modacom (the latter two are now switched off). A satellite receiving station for cable feed is also operated here. Until it was switched off, the tower was also an analogue filling station for the TV stations RTL and SAT1 , which supplied Göttingen from here , and was part of the C-network infrastructure in the mobile communications sector. Since the switch to DVB-T , the tower has stopped broadcasting television signals. The Solling telecommunications tower in the vicinity takes care of the surrounding area and the city of Göttingen .
