Speed limit

With a few exceptions, Baden-Württemberg is the only federal state to have a speed limit of 100 km / h in its double-tube road and motorway tunnels. In the other federal states, 80 km / h has been applied so far. The Free State of Bavaria has been increasing the speed limit in the corresponding tunnels since 2007 and North Rhine-Westphalia since 2008 from 80 km / h to 100 km / h.

Speed limit

In 2007, Bavaria became the second federal state after Baden-Württemberg to begin increasing the maximum speed in the twin-tube motorway and road tunnels from 80 to 100 km / h. First of all, the enclosure of the A3 near Aschaffenburg was upgraded from 80 to 100 km / h. The Laineck enclosure near Bayreuth along the A 9 was also designed for 100 km / h when it opened in 2009. The Allach tunnel will follow after the next scheduled maintenance. The Aubingen tunnel is already equipped for 100 km / h in terms of safety and is to be upgraded accordingly. The Eching and Etterschlag tunnels along the A 96 have also been upgraded to 100 km / h. In 2016 and 2017, these were brought up to date in terms of safety.
