Larry Kayode , real name Tobi Olarenwaju Ayobami Kayode (born May 8, 1993 in Ibadan ), is a Nigerian soccer player .

Career

society

Kayode began his career in Nigeria with Marvelous FC . In 2008 he moved to Ghana to Red Bull Ghana . He played there for two years before moving to ASEC Mimosas in January 2010 in the Ivory Coast . After half a year it was awarded to AFAD Djékanou for a year and a half .

After his return to ASEC he was awarded to FC Luzern from January to December 2012 in Switzerland . He made his debut on matchday 21, 2011/12 in the game against FC Lausanne-Sport . It was his only game for FC Luzern. On his return he was immediately loaned out, this time to Heartland FC in Nigeria . After nine months it was awarded one last time, this time to Israel to Maccabi Netanja . After the loan deal ended, the Israelis signed him firmly.

For the 2015/16 season he moved to Austria to the Bundesliga club FK Austria Wien , where he received a contract valid until June 2019. He made his debut on the first day of that season against Wolfsberger AC .

In August 2017 he moved to England to Manchester City and was immediately loaned to FC Girona in Spain .

After little success in Spain, Kayode was awarded to the Ukrainian first division club Shakhtar Donetsk on March 2, 2018 until the end of the 2017/18 season . There he came to six league appearances by the end of the season, in which he scored two goals. With Shakhtar Donetsk he was champion and cup winner . For the 2018/19 season , Shakhtar Donetsk acquired the transfer rights to Kayode from Manchester City and provided him with a contract that runs until June 30, 2023. For the 2019/20 season he was loaned to the Turkish first division newcomer Gaziantep FK .

National team

After Kayode had previously played for various Nigerian youth national teams, he was appointed to the senior national team for the first time in March 2017 . He made his debut that month when he came on for Ahmed Musa in a 76th minute friendly against Senegal .
