The Toyota Dyna is a range of trucks that Toyota has built since 1959. The lighter version offered in Europe as Dyna 100 is sold in Japan as ToyoAce . The models are available as flatbed trucks with single or double cabins, chassis for bodies, panel vans and as minibuses . Optionally, all-wheel drive available. In Europe the Dyna is only available as a flatbed truck and a chassis for bodies. After Daihatsu merged with Toyota in 1967, the Dyna was also sold as Daihatsu Delta from 1970 to 2003. Since 1999 it has also been available as Hino Dutro. Hino is part of the Toyota Group.
Toyota Toyopet Route Truck 1956–1959 / Dyna K70 1959–1963
The Toyopet Route Truck was built by the Kanto Auto Works. He shared the chassis with the Toyopet RK 23 pickup, which was later renamed the Toyota Stout . In April 1959, the Toyopet Route Truck was renamed the Toyota Dyna without major changes.
K170 series 1963–1968
In 1963, the original short Schnauzer Dyna was replaced by the new K170 model with a slimmer construction. In 1967, based on the K170, the first Toyota Hiace appeared .
U10 series / Daihatsu Delta 1969–1977
The Dyna U10 was launched in February. In 1970 the Daihatsu Delta followed. In this series either a 2.0-l gasoline engine , type Toyota 5R with 78 kW output, a 3.0-l diesel engine, type Toyota B, with 59 kW output or a 3.6-l diesel engine type Toyota H with 66 kW installed. The two smaller engines (5R and B) had four cylinders, the Toyota H six. All were in-line engines.
Toyota ToyoAce Y10 series
The smaller Toyota ToyoAce with 1 to 1.5 t payload was presented in 1971. In Europe, the later versions of this model are called Dyna 100.

U20-U50 series / Daihatsu Delta 1977–1984
In August 1977 the completely revised model of the U20 series was presented. This model and the smaller Y20 were the first models exported to Europe. Apart from the Y-Otto engine, only six-cylinder diesel engines were now available.
Toyota ToyoAce Y20-Y40 1979-1984
The early ToyoAce had round headlights and 3.4 liter diesel engines with four cylinders in line, direct injection with 66 kW output. The later models have rectangular headlights and an engine with a slightly larger displacement and more power (3.7 liters and 72 kW). From 1984 to 2002 Toyota manufactured the Dyna Rino in Indonesia based on the Y20 .
U60-U90 series / Daihatsu Delta 1984–1994
Production of the U60-90 series began in September 1984. All-wheel drive was now also available in Europe. The six-cylinder diesels were discontinued. The successors were now Hino inline four-cylinder diesel with direct injection. The Y-Otto engine was replaced by the type R, which was also available in a LPG version . A four- speed automatic transmission was also available.
In 1987 there was a slight facelift on the front and an anti-lock braking system became available as an option, which was installed as standard in the stronger and heavier versions in Europe from 1991.
Toyota ToyoAce Y50-Y60 series 1985-1994
The Toyoace Y50 / Dyna 100 in Europe, was also sold in Australia with a double cabin and Ute body (loading platform).
Daihatsu Delta in South America
The Dyna U60-U90 series is built as Daihatsu Delta to this day in South America and some Asian countries.
U200 / Daihatsu Delta 1995-1999
In May 1995 the U200 series appeared with revised engines. ABS was now standard in all versions, and a driver airbag was now available as an option.
Toyota ToyoAce Y100 1995-1999
The Toyoace Y100 / Toyota FB was offered again in Europe as Dyna 100 and was identical to the contemporary Hino Ranger .
U300-U400 1999-2011 / Hino Dutro / Daihatsu Delta
With this generation, the similarly built Hino Dutro was introduced. Until 2003 the Dyna U300 was also built as the Daihatsu Delta. Double airbags were now standard. Production began in May 1999. Engines were Hino's S05C, S05D, and J05C diesel engines. The 3Y petrol engine did not follow until 2000, again for liquid gas operation on request.
- Improved noise insulation followed in 2002 and exhaust gas recirculation was introduced in order to comply with the stricter emission regulations. There was now also a natural gas version of the gasoline engine.
- In 2003 the N04C diesel engine with common rail and urea injection to reduce nitrogen oxides was presented. From September 2003 it was also offered with a hybrid drive and standard four-speed automatic transmission from Aisin Seiki .
Toyota ToyoAce Y200 1999-2011

U600 / U700 since 2011
The newly designed Dyna U600 / U700 has been on the market in Japan since June 2011, again identical to the Hino Dutro. It is only available with diesel engines, which now all have common rail injection and a six-speed manual transmission as standard. A six-speed automatic transmission is also available as an option. The Dyna is also available again with a hybrid drive and the N04C type UL engine with 110 kW maximum power and a maximum torque of 420 Nm, together with a five-speed automatic transmission from Aisin. The engine works with inlet valves that close very late ( Atkinson cycle ).
