Parish Church of Saint-Laurent
The project to restore the former Saint-Martin church , proposed in 1890 by the architect Isidore Dandieu from Saint-Cricq-Chalosse , was rejected in favor of a completely new building. This was carried out in 1894 and 1895 by the entrepreneur Lasserenne according to plans by the architect V. Séron. The new church was consecrated on April 6, 1895. The church , built in the neo-Romanesque style, has three naves , which are separated by large round arches that rest on square pillars made of ashlar . The main nave is lengthened by a square choir , which is equipped with a false ribbed vault and is flanked by two sacristies . A triplet window supplies the choir with light. To the west, the square bell tower rises above the vestibule. He is equipped with an octagonal helmet covered with slate . The windows of the church are arched. The edges of the walls are decorated with teeth made of stone.
The furnishings of the former Saint-Martin church were not reused in the construction of the new church, with the exception of the bells, which were made in 1827 and 1860. The current inventory was thus acquired shortly after the completion of the construction work. The last significant pieces of equipment are thirteen stained glass windows by the stained glass painter Jean Lesquibe (1910–1995) from Anglet in 1972. They replaced the stained glass windows by the stained glass painter Despouys from Hagetmau, which were used in the building in 1895 and restored in 1922. The symbolic motifs stand out against a multicolored geometric background.
Chapel of Agès
From the former chapel in the north of Monségur only the walls, the roof and tombstones remain today. The altar is now in the parish church of Cazalis . The chapel originally belonged to the castle of Agès. The landlords de Lataulade, once Seigneurs of Monségur, are buried here.
Castle of Agès
A manorial rule established itself in Monségur in the 19th century. The Seigneurs decided to build an easy to defend castle with high round and square towers on a hill at the mouth of the Ruisseau de Grabe in the Louts. Today the castle is privately owned and not open to the public.
