The Daihatsu Terios is a compact SUV from the Daihatsu brand . It was first introduced in 1997 and is considered the successor to the Daihatsu Rocky . The name Terios means dream in Greek . In Asia it was also sold in the first generation as Toyota Cami , Daihatsu Taruna and Perodua Kembara, and in a shorter version as Daihatsu Terios Kid . In contrast to its predecessor models, the Terios is only available with five doors.

The first generation came on the market in 1997. In 2000 there was a facelift, during which the Terios was given a chrome cooler. The first generation Terios was available with engines from the Daihatsu Charade . A 5-speed manual transmission or a 4- speed automatic transmission was offered, and the Terios could be purchased with either two or four-wheel drive .

In 2006 a successor model was presented, which was developed in cooperation with Toyota . The new Terios is also sold as Toyota Rush and Daihatsu Be‣go . At the beginning of 2009, the second generation of the Terios received a facelift in which the front, especially the radiator grille, and the rear lights were changed.
Since Daihatsu withdrew from the German market from the beginning of 2013 and the European market from the end of 2014 (as long as there were new cars in Spain), the model has not been offered in Europe since then.

The third generation of the Terios was presented in Indonesia in November 2017. It has been on sale there since the beginning of January 2018. In May 2018, the vehicle was introduced in the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines, among others. For the first time, the Terios is also available with seven seats.
Terios worldwide
Premier Ri0 / Rio +
The first model will continue to be produced as Premier RiO by the Indian automobile manufacturer Premier Automobiles . However, a replica of the PSA-XU engine diesel engine from the Peugeot 309 is used here and was the first Indian SUV with a diesel engine at the presentation . The current Terios model is produced as the Premier Rio + .
Perodua Kembara / Perodua Nautica
Perodua from Kuala Lumpur builds the Terios I as Perodua Kembara and the current model as Perodua Nautica .
