  • Malé / Maldives : President Abdulla Yameen imposed a state of emergency on the capital after days of riots between the opposition and the police. The country's chief judge, another supreme court judge and opposition leader, former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom , are also arrested. The background to the political crisis is a ruling on the release and rehabilitation of several opposition politicians, including the former President Mohamed Nasheed , which the current head of state does not implement. If the rehabilitated opposition politicians were to resume their mandates and return to parliament, President Yameen would no longer have a majority there.

  • Hamilton / Bermuda : Bermuda is the first region in the world to abolish marriage for everyone , which was introduced after a ruling by the Supreme Court in 2017 and was socially controversial on the archipelago. A law signed by Governor John Rankin has the support of British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson , who could have prevented the law with his veto but saw no justification for interfering with the self-government of the overseas territory. Same-sex marriages that have already been concluded remain valid.

  • Harduf / Israel : An Israeli F-16 fighter jet crashes in the north of the country. The pilots save themselves with the ejection seat. Military spokesmen for the Israel Defense Forces believe the plane was shot down after it carried out multiple attacks on positions in Syria . The force of Syria claim to have shot down the plane.

  • Oaxaca / Mexico : The interior minister of the country Alfonso Navarrete Prida a picture of the damage of an earthquake of strength wants to 7.2 M w in the state of Oaxaca make and travels by helicopter to the affected area. When the helicopter crashed near Santiago Jamiltepec, 13 people died. The interior minister remains unharmed. No people were killed by the earthquake itself.
