The Peugeot Type 161 , also known as the Quadrilette , is a car model of the French car manufacturer Peugeot .

description

The vehicle was presented at the Brussels Motor Show in 1920. Production ran from 1921 to 1922. A total of 3500 vehicles were built at the Beaulieu plant.

It had a four-cylinder four - stroke engine which was arranged at the front and propelled the rear wheels via cardan shafts. The engine developed 10 HP from a displacement of 667 cm³ .

There were models 161 and 161 E. With a wheelbase of 230.4 cm and a narrow track width of 92.6 cm at the front and 75 cm at the rear, which meant that there was no need for a differential , the vehicle length was 295.4 cm, the vehicle width 116.6 cm and the vehicle height 145 cm. The Quadrilette body shape offered space for two people who, in the early versions, could sit one behind the other, in the later versions, staggered.

Due to its low weight of less than 350 kg, the vehicle was classified as a cycle car .

The model was replaced by the Peugeot Type 172 in 1922 .
