Robert G. Bremner

Robert Gunn Bremner (born December 17, 1874 in Caithness , Scotland , †  February 5, 1914 in Baltimore , Maryland ) was an American politician . In 1913 and 1914 he represented the state of New Jersey in the US House of Representatives .

Career

In his youth Robert Bremner came to Canada from his Scottish homeland , where he attended public schools. He later moved to the United States, where he worked as a carpenter, electrician, and newspaper reporter. During the Spanish-American War he served in an infantry unit in the United States Army . After that he was a newspaper publisher.

Politically, Bremner was a member of the Democratic Party . In the 1912 congressional election he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the seventh constituency of New Jersey , where he succeeded Edward W. Townsend on March 4, 1913 . Bremner was able to exercise his mandate until his death on February 5, 1914. The Republican Dow H. Drukker was elected to succeed him.
