Frank Pallone Jr. (born October 30, 1951 in Long Branch , New Jersey ) is an American politician . Since 1988 he has represented the state of New Jersey in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Frank Pallone attended Middlebury College in Vermont until 1973 . He then studied at Tufts University in Massachusetts until 1974 . After studying law at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy there as well as at the School of Law at Rutgers University and his admission as a lawyer in 1978, he began to work in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1982 and 1988 Pallone was a member of Long Branch City Council. He also served in the New Jersey Senate from 1983 to 1988 .

After the death of MP James J. Howard , Pallone was elected to the House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the by-election due for the third seat of New Jersey , where he took up his new mandate on November 8, 1988. Since he has been re-elected in all subsequent elections, including the one in 2016, he can continue to exercise his mandate today. His latest legislative term runs until January 3, 2019. Since 1993, he has been representing Bernard J. Dwyer in the sixth district of his state. During his time as a congressman, the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 , the Iraq war and the military operation in Afghanistan fell . In Congress, Frank Pallone is or was a member of the Committee on Energy and Trade and the Committee on Mineral Resources and a total of four sub-committees. He is married and lives privately in his native Long Branch.
