Aaron Kitchell

Aaron Kitchell (born July 10, 1744 in Hanover Township , Morris County , Province of New Jersey , †  June 25, 1820 ibid) was an American politician who represented the state of New Jersey in both chambers of Congress .

After finishing school in Hanover, Aaron Kitchell trained as a blacksmith. His political career began in 1781 when he first moved into the New Jersey General Assembly , where he initially remained until 1782. Further terms of office in this Chamber of Parliament followed in 1784, from 1786 to 1790, from 1793 to 1794, 1797, from 1801 to 1804 and finally again in 1809.

In the meantime he represented the interests of his state for the first time from March 4, 1791 to March 3, 1793 in the House of Representatives of the 2nd US Congress . After the death of the MP Abraham Clark , he won the by-election for his mandate and returned on January 29, 1795 to the Congress, which was still in Philadelphia at the time . He was re-confirmed in office and resigned from the House of Representatives on March 3, 1797. From March 4, 1799 to March 3, 1801, he then spent another term of office there.

Finally Aaron Kitchell was in 1804 as a member of the Democratic Republicans in the Senate of the United States elected. There he performed his mandate from March 4, 1805 until his resignation on March 12, 1809.
