history
Sommersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1222. Until the monastery was dissolved, it belonged to the monastery in Verchen . It then became a subsidiary property (pertinence) to Kummerow , a property owned by Maltzahn . Then the 800 hectare estate was separated and thus independent. The last owners were the Rewoldt family. In 1924 the manor burned down, but was rebuilt. During the Nazi era , the manor house was a “farm school for the training of young women farmers”.
