Reception and charts

Allmusic critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine noted that the album was not lacking a “Clapton megahit from the 80s and 90s” and that it was an “excellent compliment to unplugged and timepieces ”. He awarded a total of four of the five possible rating units for the album.

The compilation reached number three on the German album charts and stayed in the charts for 25 weeks. In Austria, the album was number one in the Ö3 Austria Top 40 . In the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the compilation album reached number six and five, respectively. In the United States, the album ranked number 20 on the Billboard 200 .
