Chronicle of the electrification of railway lines in Switzerland

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first electrified railway line in Switzerland was the Vevey-Montreux-Chillon Tramway in 1888 . The network of the largest infrastructure operator, the Swiss Federal Railways , has been fully electrified since 2004 ; most of the lines operated by other operators are also electrified.

Unless otherwise stated, the timetable field numbering corresponds to the 2010 timetable period, as it was also used in the Rail Profile Switzerland book (2nd edition) .
