About this picture

Stadum ( North Frisian : Ståårem ) is a municipality in the Schleswigschen Geest in the district of North Friesland in Schleswig-Holstein . The Gut Fresenhagen (Danish Fresenhavn , North Frisenhuuwen ) and the district of Holzacker (Danish Holtager ) are located in the municipality.

Geography and traffic

Stadum is about 20 km east of Niebüll on the federal highway 199 to Flensburg . From this the state road 4 goes off, which leads to Bredstedt to federal road 5 .

history

Archaeological finds show that the municipality has been inhabited since the Mesolithic . Two barrows from the Bronze Age are located in the Langenberg Forest. In 1976 a cattle skeleton was found in an excavation pit. The animal has been proven to have lived in the 4th century, which indicates an early agricultural use in the municipal area. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1486, but appeared in a church register as early as 1359. The place name means home. Serfdom was abolished on Gut Fresenhagen in 1796.

At the Stadum air force site and the Leck Air Base, the former anti-aircraft missile group 39 with the HAWK weapon system replaced the disbanded reconnaissance wing 52 , followed by anti-aircraft missile group 25 between 2005 and 2012. Today, the Stadum site is subordinate to the organizational division CIR . The troops' quarters are located in the General Thomsen barracks, named after General Hermann von der Lieth-Thomsen , in the municipality of Stadum. On July 15, 2017, the barracks were renamed Südtondern-Kaserne.

Incorporations

On February 1, 1974, the previously independent municipality of Holzacker was incorporated.

In the immediate vicinity of the school there is also a public, solar-heated outdoor pool with a kiosk and DLRG guard.

The town of Stadum belongs to the evangelical parish of Leck and has its own church house with a bell stack in town. The Holzacker district belongs to the Enge-Stedesand parish and does not have its own church.
