The three- cushion world cup 2015/6 was the sixth and final UMB / ACC world cup tournament of the 29th season of the three- cushion world cup. It took place from December 13-19, 2015 in Hurghada , Egypt . It was the eleventh three-cushion World Cup tournament in Hurghada since 2004.
Frédéric Caudron won his 15th World Cup tournament in Hurghada. After the final against Marco Zanetti , who played a very strong tournament, Caudron said it was one of the best three-cushion games he had ever played. For Zanetti, who won in Hurghada in 2014, making it to the final was extremely important. He had 80 points to defend in the world rankings. Failure early on threatened to fall from the top twelve. Because only the first twelve get reimbursed all expenses for a World Cup tournament.
Daniel Sánchez was able to secure the overall World Cup for the fifth time . After a hard-fought win in extra time against Tayfun Taşdemir in the quarter-finals , his victory was clear and he will play against world champion Torbjörn Blomdahl in the Player of the Year for the extra bonus of the year in Antwerp .
A lot has changed in the tournament mode since 2013.
The sentence system was abolished because the dullness was not calculable. Matches could last between three and five sets. Good timing was therefore not possible.
The game distances were set at 30 points in the per-qualification rounds and 40 points in the main qualification and in the knockout games. A tie is possible in the qualifying rounds. In the knockout round, overtime is played in the event of a tie. Each of the two players starts with the initial push. Whoever scores more points wins the match. If there is also a tie in extra time, the kick starts again until a winner is determined.
There are only two wildcards for the organizer and one each for three of the four associations CPB , ACBC , CEB and ACC in which the World Cup does not take place.
Four qualifying rounds are played. From the last qualifying round, the 12 group winners and the three best runners-up qualify for the final round. The main tournament is played with 32 participants.
Since the Korean army did not give Kim Haeng-jik permission to leave South Korea , four runners-up came into the main field.

The three-cushion World Cup was organized by the founding association, the " Billiards Worldcup Association " (BWA) until 1998 . Disputes between the BWA and the world association Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) led to parallel tournaments between 1994 and 1997. The UMB / BWA organized the tournament together until the beginning of 1999. Since the dissolution of the BWA in 1999, the UMB has been the sole organizer. From 1988-1991 the UMB did not host any world championships. During this time, the annual overall winner of the World Cup was crowned world champion.
