Steinbergkirche is located in the Fishing Region . About four kilometers northeast of Steinbergkirche is the Geltinger Bucht , which gives its name to the Geltinger Bucht, whose official seat is the Steinbergkirche.

history

The settlement of Bredegatt goes back to the church mentioned in the 12th century. The community was originally called Bredegatt (Bredegade) and was renamed Steinbergkirche in 1963 .

In 1970 the previously independent municipalities of Gintoft, Hattlund and Westerholm were incorporated and on March 1, 2013 the municipality of Quern (including the town of Neukirchen).

In 2017 the Gintoft forest was cut down. Citizens' protests for the preservation of the forest could not prevail.

Community representation

From the merger with Quern to the establishment of the municipal council elected in the 2013 local elections, a commissioner appointed by the local supervisory authority performed the duties of the municipal council and the mayor. After the municipal elections in 2013, the municipal council consisted of 17 municipal representatives, ten of them from the WSQ electoral community , five from the SPD and two from the SSW .

Schools and kindergartens
