Urville is a French municipality with 671 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Thury-Harcourt (until 2015: canton of Bretteville-sur-Laize ). The inhabitants are called Urvillais .

Urville is about 19 kilometers southeast of Caen am Laize . Urville is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gouvix in the north and west, Cauvicourt in the northeast, Bretteville-le-Rabet in the east, Grainville-Langannerie in the south and southeast, Saint-Germain-le-Vasson in the south and Barbery in the southwest.
