Authie is a French commune with 1,595 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Caen-2 . The inhabitants call themselves Althavillais .
geography
Authie is a banlieue about five kilometers northeast of Caen . Authie is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rosel in the north and north-west, Cairon in the north, Saint-Contest in the north and east, Saint-Germain-la-Blanche-Herb in the south and south-east and Rots in the west.
