The three- cushion world cup 2007/5 was the fifth UMB / CEB world cup tournament in the 21st year of the three-cushion world cup. The tournament took place from August 27 to September 1, 2007 in this discipline of carom billiards in Hurghada on the Red Sea. It was the fifth three-cushion World Cup tournament in Egypt.
history
After his fifth victory in the last six World Cup tournaments, Torbjörn Blomdahl secured the title of overall winner 2007 ahead of time. In the final against Martin Horn , who won the first set in three shots, he once again showed his mental strength and won 3-1 Sentences. Horn repeated his best World Cup placement. Although he was twice in the finals in 1997, it was at the time when parallel World Cups were still taking place. The best three-cushion players in the world were not represented in these tournaments. But in 1999 in Berlin, where he was able to take second place, the world class was at the start. In the semi-final against Frédéric Caudron , Horn also showed good nerves. Caudron won the first set in one shot and was beaten 1: 3 sets. Also third was the Dutchman Dick Jaspers who once again played the best general average (GD) of the tournament.

^ Heinrich Weingartner: Billiards . No. 197 . Vienna September 2007, p. 10-16 .
The three-cushion World Cup was organized by the founding association, the "
Billiards Worldcup Association " (BWA) until 1998 . Disputes between the BWA and the world association
Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) led to parallel tournaments between 1994 and 1997. The UMB / BWA organized the tournament together until the beginning of 1999. Since the dissolution of the BWA in 1999, the UMB has been the sole organizer.
From 1988-1991 the UMB did not host any world championships. During this time, the annual overall winner of the World Cup was crowned world champion.
