The three- cushion world cup 2015/2 was the second UMB / CEB world cup tournament in the 29th year of the three-cushion world cup. It took place from July 6th to 12th, 2015 in Porto , Portugal . It was the sixth World Cup tournament in Porto.
The best match of this World Cup took place in the qualification. In Group K, the Turk Birol Uymaz and the Vietnamese Nguyen Quoc Nguyen played for group victory. Birol started the game with a series of 16 and led after twelve shots with 38:14. Then the Vietnamese hit the tournament high of 20 points and was back in business. In the 15th shot, Birol finished the game and Nguyen only got 39 points. Due to the strong average of 1,880, Nguyen also came into the main field of the best 32. Uymaz made it to the quarter-finals where he failed because of the eventual winner. Nguyen already had to pack his bags in the first round in extra time against Dick Jaspers . The Korean Hwang Hyung-bum also played a very strong tournament. As a qualifier, he made it to the final with a great performance. Only here did he have to admit defeat to the record World Cup winner Torbjörn Blomdahl . For Blomdahl it was the 43rd victory in his 132nd World Cup tournament.
A lot has changed in the tournament mode since 2013. The rate system was abolished because the match time could not be calculated. Matches could last between three and five sets. Good timing was therefore not possible. The game distances were set at 30 points in the pre-qualifying rounds and 40 points in the main qualification and in the knockout games. A tie is possible in the qualifying rounds. In the knockout round, overtime is played in the event of a tie. Each of the two players starts with the initial push. Whoever scores more points wins the match. If there is also a tie in extra time, the kick starts again until a winner is determined. The shot clock was set to 40 seconds wildcards, there are only two for the host and one each for three of the four associations
CPB , ACBC , CEB and ACC in which the World Cup does not take place.
Four qualifying rounds are played. From the last qualifying round, the 12 group winners and the three best runners-up qualify for the final round. The main tournament is played with 32 participants.
In the event of a tie, the following order will be applied:
The first 12 players in the world rankings and the wildcard players automatically took part as players in the tournament in the knockout round. The first four of the world rankings are placed in positions 1, 16, 8 and 9.
Wildcard players:
1 × CPB : Pedro Piedrabuena
1 × ACBC : Cho Chi-yeon
2 × Organizing hosts: Rui Manuel Costa, João Pedro Ferreira

The three-cushion World Cup was organized by the founding association, the " Billiards Worldcup Association " (BWA) until 1998 . Disputes between the BWA and the world association Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) led to parallel tournaments between 1994 and 1997. The UMB / BWA organized the tournament together until the beginning of 1999. Since the dissolution of the BWA in 1999, the UMB has been the sole organizer. From 1988-1991 the UMB did not host any world championships. During this time, the annual overall winner of the World Cup was crowned world champion.
