List of German railway companies

This list includes railway companies operating in Germany . Since the railway reform is between railway infrastructure - (EIU) and railway traffic company distinguished (RU). The competent licensing authority for federally owned or foreign RIUs and EVUs is the Federal Railway Authority , for the so-called NE-Bahn the respective federal state in which the company is based (§ 6 AEG ).

Railway companies that no longer exist are included in the list of former German railway companies . Also not included in this list and transport authorities of the railway passenger , museum railways and public transport networks .

Most of the stations and stops in the route network belong to the subsidiaries DB Station & Service AG , DB RegioNetz Infrastruktur and DB Netz of Deutsche Bahn .

The Federal Railways Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) and Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) merged to form Deutsche Bahn AG (DB) through the Railway Reorganization Act of 1994 . This was divided into individual subsidiaries according to the areas of responsibility .
