Track Cycling World Cup 2011/12
The UCI - Track Cycling World Cup 2011/2012 ( 2011-2012 UCI Track Cycling World Cup ) took place between November 4, 2011, and February 19, 2012 and consisted of four competitions in Astana , Cali , Beijing and London , where he in Astana and London were first held. The placements achieved in this World Cup season were one of the decisive factors for qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, broken down into individual, national and team rankings . The last run of the World Cup took place as a pre-Olympic test competition in the London Olympic Velodrome , which was built for the 2012 Olympic Games . The UCI Track World Championships 2012 in Melbourne in April will conclude the Olympic qualification .
Individual disciplines, such as two-man team driving or single pursuit , which are no longer part of the Olympic program, were nevertheless held at the World Cup at the request of the respective organizer.
In addition to the national teams, professional UCI track teams also take part in track cycling competitions .
The German national team won the overall World Cup. The most successful athletes were the German Maximilian Levy and the Chinese Guo Shuang .
