Bushido (born Anis Mohamed Youssef Ferchichi in Bonn on September 28, 1978 ), also known under the pseudonym Sonny Black , is a German rapper and songwriter whose style is based on US gangsta rap . He also works as a producer and is the owner of the Ersguterjunge record label .

Life

Early youth

Bushido is the son of a Tunisian who has died and the German Luise Maria Engel (* 1949/50; † April 6, 2013). His father had moved from the Tunisian capital Tunis to Düsseldorf in the early 1970s . He left the family when the son was three years old. Bushido initially had no contact with him and grew up with his single mother in Berlin's Tempelhof district . After primary school, he attended two Tempelhof high schools up to the eleventh grade. According to his own statement, because of various violations of the Narcotics Act and damage to property, a court gave him the choice of completing state-sponsored training as a painter and varnisher or of being imprisoned in a juvenile prison. However, since the process is not on record, according to the Spiegel , there are doubts as to the correctness of this representation. During his training, he met his future partner Fler . Bushido came to hip-hop and rap through graffiti when he painted pictures under the pseudonym Fuchs .

Career

The stage name Bushido was taken from Japanese and means way of the warrior , the code of conduct of the samurai . He is also known by the name Sonny Black , which was the nickname of the Italian-American bully Dominic Napolitano .

Beginnings and aggro Berlin time (1998-2003)

Together with Vader Bushido founded the rap duo Search & Defeat and recorded an album called Unbreakable , which was never finished. King Orgasmus One joined the group, and together they founded 030 Squad, under which they recorded a demo tape and sold it in small numbers to friends. Bushido's first release can be found on the 2000 Gynecologist -Tanga-Tanga -Tape with King Orgasmus One for I Luv Money Records . Together with that same King Orgasmus and bass Sultan Hengzt , he formed the group Berlins Most Wanted (BMW) during this time .

A little later he published his first own tape King of Kingz , which eventually led to his move to the record label Aggro Berlin , where he worked with Sido , B-Tight and Fler. The album was released as a digitally revised version by Aggro Berlin in 2003 and re-released in 2004 with four remixes under the title King Of Kingz 2004 Edition . Due to the indexing of King of Kingz , which took place in 2005, the tape was published again in digital form as a defused version including demo tape under the title King of Kingz & Demotape - extended version .

In 2002, the collaboration album Carlo Cokxxx Nutten with Fler, who rapped under the pseudonym Frank White , was released under Bushido's pseudonym Sonny Black (based on the film Donnie Brasco ) . In 2003 Bushido published his first solo album Vom Bordstein bis zur Skyline , which was produced together with Ilan and which, thanks to the music video for the title At Night and appearances at larger hip-hop festivals such as Splash, made it to a chart position at number 88. The album has a very dark and - in relation to the rest of the German hip-hop scene at the time - "hard" character and is therefore considered by critics and fans as a "milestone" for the later development of the genre. Fler was also represented on this album with six guest contributions. The demo tape was recorded on CD in 2003 after it was published on the Internet. In December 2003 Aggro Berlin released the label sampler Aggro Ansage Nr. 3, the last CD with Bushido participation.

Ersguterjunge founded and rise to mainstream star (2004-2006)

Due to existing artistic differences with regard to his further solo career, Bushido left Aggro Berlin in the summer of 2004 and was signed by Urban / Universal Music , with whom he founded the Ersguterjunge label with D-Bo . In mid-2004 he and Ilan produced a remix of America on behalf of the Neue-Deutsche- Härteband Rammstein . In October 2004 Bushido released the LP Electro Ghetto on Universal , which reached sixth place in the German album charts. On April 4, 2005, Bushido's alter ego Sonny Black and Carlo Cokxxx Nutten II released the fourth LP within two and a half years, which reached number 3 in the album charts. Instead of his former partner Fler, who remained with Aggro Berlin, with whom he had meanwhile embarked on a musical feud, which in the meantime had culminated in the publication of the joint discourse Flerräter with Eko Fresh , Bushido was supported this time by Baba Saad .

Bushido at a concert in early 2006

On November 4, 2005, Bushido's album Staatsfeind Nr. 1 was released , which was mainly produced in Linz by Beatlefield , consisting of the rapper and producer Chakuza and the producer and DJ Stickle . Both had recently been signed by Ersguterjunge, while Bushido's long-time producer DJ Ilan and the bass Sultan Hengzt, who had been signed up in the meantime, left the label. Together with the other new signings Eko Fresh, Bizzy Montana and Nyze , the label sampler Nemesis Vol. 1 was released in February 2006 .

At the 2006 Echo Awards, he won the prize in the Live Act National category. In summer 2006 Bushido occurred while rock music - festival Rock im Park on, but was thrown by spectators with cups, coins and stones. The rapper then canceled his planned appearance at the parallel event Rock am Ring .

On September 1, 2006, the solo album Von der Skyline zum Bordstein was released , which was the first Bushido album to contain no features and was almost entirely produced by himself. After just two weeks it achieved gold status in Germany, later it was awarded platinum . Von der Skyline zum Bordstein returned to number 2 in the German album charts and stayed in the charts for a total of 50 weeks, making it the most successful Bushido release to date. At the MTV Europe Music Awards 2006 he received an award for the Best German Act .

Moved to Sony BMG, 7 , Heavy Metal Payback and Autobiography (2006–2008)

The second Ersguterjunge label sampler Vendetta was released on December 1, 2006. The title track of the album was released as a single a week earlier. The song contains rap passages from Bushido, Chakuza and Eko Fresh. On February 9, 2007, the third single Janine from his album From the skyline to the curb was released . At the Echo Awards on March 25, 2007 Bushido won the award in the Hip-Hop / R & B National category .

At the end of June 2007 the change from Bushido and his label Ersguterjunge from Universal / Urban to Sony BMG was announced. The first release for Sony BMG was Bushido's solo album 7 on August 31, 2007, which immediately followed on from the success of Von der Skyline zum Bordstein and was the first Bushido album to reach number 1 on the Media Control Charts. 7 achieved platinum status in both Germany and Austria . At the Echo Awards in 2008 he was recognized for the album in the Hip-Hop / R & B National category and for the accompanying tour as a live act national . In May of the same year Bushido was awarded a Comet for Best Artist .

For his album Heavy Metal Payback , which was released in autumn 2008, Bushido released a live CD / DVD that went with it in early 2009. A few days after the album was released, Bushido gave a free concert in front of 10,000 spectators at O2 World Berlin . From Heavy Metal Payback , Bushido coupled his most successful single to date with Forever Young , a duet with Schlager singer Karel Gott . Forever young reached number 5 in the German single charts, Bushido's second-highest ranking after Alles lost , which had been ranked fourth the year before , and sold over 150,000 copies in Germany alone. In contrast, the refusal of those responsible for the music broadcaster MTV to play the title led, however, to Bushido's break with the broadcaster and VIVA, which is also part of the Viacom group .

At the same time Bushido intensified his activities apart from his own music career. In early 2007 he founded the girl band Bisou , which was made up of former candidates from the casting show Popstars . However, they should separate again in the following year. In January 2008 it became known that Bushido and a partner were running a company in the real estate industry. The company, whose main activity is buying and selling apartments, employed six people at the beginning of 2008 and had made a profit of one million euros in the first ten months after it was founded. On September 8, 2008, the autobiography Bushido was published, which Lars Amend had written with Bushido. The book was a huge success and immediately reached # 1 on the mirror - bestseller list . At the end of 2008, Bushido opened a shop on Alexanderplatz in Berlin selling fashion he designed.

Film, Beyond Good and Evil and Musical Reconciliation with Fler & Sido (2008–2011)

Bushido in December 2009 at a concert in Munich

Since 2009 at the latest, Bushido has repeatedly made public appearances with celebrities from politics and society, including Hannelore Elsner and Horst Seehofer .

In March 2009 Bushido's former musical companion and later feud opponent Fler left the label Aggro Berlin, which announced its dissolution only a little later. The two soon reconciled and released Carlo Cokxxx Nutten 2 on September 11, 2009 , which brought them to number 3 in the German charts.

On July 21, 2009 filming began for the feature film times change you , which was filmed in and around Berlin until mid-September 2009. Bushido played the main role in the work directed by Uli Edel , produced by Bernd Eichinger and a film adaptation of Bushido's autobiography, published in 2008. The film received mostly negative reviews. Some critics judged the production to be, among other things, a “chubby film” and “involuntary full trash”, others stated that Bushido had no acting talent and was “rather embarrassing” in the film. His authenticity was occasionally underlined, but from this point of view it goes hand in hand with Bushido's awkwardness as a speaker. Over 300,000 people visited the film on the opening weekend. The soundtrack of the same name reached number 2 in Germany, number 1 in Austria and number 3 in the album charts in Switzerland and was awarded a gold record in Germany and Austria.

In 2010 Bushido managed to place two singles in the top 10 in Germany again after 2008. The first release of the film soundtrack Times Change You reached number 10 on the charts. At the start of the 2010 soccer World Cup , Bushido released a World Cup song on June 11, 2010 with the title Torches in the Wind , which he wrote and recorded together with Kay One and which took 6th place.

In October 2010 Bushido released the album Berlins Most Wanted together with Kay One and Fler, who after several artist separations made up the remaining musical stock of the Ersguterjunge label . In May 2011, the album Jenseits von Gut und Böse followed , with which Bushido was able to reach number 1 in the album charts for the first time in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In 2011 there was a reconciliation between Bushido and his opponent Sido. Subsequently, it was announced on the Sony BMG website that Bushido and Sido would be working on a joint album entitled " 23 ". With the release of 23 on October 14, 2011, Bushido had released 5 LPs this time within two years and two months. 23 achieved gold status in Germany and Austria. For their first common single So mach ich es they were awarded nationally at the Echo Awards 2012 in the category Best Video .

AMYF , Stress without Reason and Sonny Black (2012 to 2015)

After there was a public dispute between DJ Tomekk and Bushido about the album "Double Dragon", Bushido put the album online as a free download and commented: "Because you are all correct, there is a free track."

His eleventh studio album AMYF was released on October 12, 2012 and again reached number 1 on the album charts. The letters in the album title are the initials of Bushido's full, real name. A week before the appearance of AMYF , the pre- single Kleine Bushidos was released, for whose video he was nominated again in the category Best Video at the Echo Awards 2013, but this time Lena Meyer-Landrut had to admit defeat. At the same time, however , AMYF was the first Bushido solo album since his separation from Aggro Berlin that was not nominated for an Echo itself.

In March 2013, the iTunes premium version was made available for download, with the exclusive single Panamera Flow Bushido presented the only Ersguterjunge artist Shindy as a new signing after the departure of Fler and Kay One in 2011 and 2012 besides Bushido . On his debut album NWA , Bushido was represented on three tracks in addition to the again included Panamera Flow , all of which were placed in the single charts in the joint release week. Mainly because of the track Stress without Reason , in which Bushido attacks various politicians, the album, especially Bushido, came under criticism and, like Stress without Reason itself, was finally indexed on July 19th. The media attention brought at the same time a media hype around the NWA with them and helped to chart at No. 1. In November 2013 Bushido was an eleven-minute this "Disstrack" against his now feuding, former partner Kay One, entitled Life and Death of Kenneth Glöckler follow , which received a lot of attention in the German-speaking rapeseed scene and especially on YouTube .

His twelfth studio album, Sonny Black , was released on February 14, 2014, after videos with Middle of the Night , Gangsta Rap Kings and Anyone of My Friends had already been filmed for three songs on the album, which were released before the album was released. In 2006 Bushido dedicated the song Mein Game to DJ Tomekk, which first appeared on the mixtape The Next Generation and in 2014 on the album DJ Tomekk Presents the Nexxt Generation . On February 13th, 2015 Bushido's 13th studio album Carlo Cokxxx Nutten 3 was released. The album Cla $$ ic , which was created in collaboration with Shindy , was released on November 6, 2015 .

Black Friday and Myth (2016 to date)

In December 2016, Bushido announced his twelfth studio album. On March 8, 2017, Bushido confirmed the title of his new album Black Friday . The album was originally scheduled to be released on May 5th and was finally released on June 9th 2017.

After Ali Bumaye , MO030 and AK Ausserkontrolle left Ersguterjunge, Bushido announced his thirteenth studio album in March 2018, entitled Mythos , which was released on September 28, 2018.

Link to organized crime

There has been repeated speculation in the media about links between Bushido and organized crime circles . The focus of the reports was on connections between Bushido and the large Berlin family Abou-Chaker, who originally came from Lebanon .

When asked in an interview that he “also likes to threaten brothers and mates”, Bushido replied in 2008:

“It's like being in a state. There is also a separation of powers. The cops, as the executive, do the dirty work, others make the laws. Of course I have friends who tell me: 'You don't touch anyone, we do it.' "

- Interview with the Frankfurter Rundschau on September 30, 2008

When the journalist established that Bushido's rise from high school dropout and petty dealer to rap millionaire was crucially related to the fact that he had teamed up with one of the most powerful Arab family clans in Berlin and was obliged to him, because it had helped him and was a kind of executive , and the journalist linked this to the question of protection money , the rapper explained:

“… The state comes and says: You have to pay for this. I don't even have a deal with the state ... I think that's a lot more protection money than the deals I do with people ... Some of which are also executive. But who are portrayed as protection rackets. That is nonsense. The fact is that I do a lot of my business with a man who once helped me a lot. For example, we run a real estate company. "

- Frankfurter Rundschau , September 30, 2008

In response to the journalist's statement that the help of his "brothers" consisted in literally driving some of his rap competitors out of Berlin, citing the example of a rapper who had fled to Heidelberg, Bushido said:

“Now you are coming to a head. Many rappers dissed me, for example on Youtube. But it should not exceed a certain limit. Without my doing anything, an artist from a certain label started rapping that he would cut out my tattoo. "

- Frankfurter Rundschau , September 30, 2008

He went on to claim that when the diss was crossing borders, violence was legitimate to put an end to it.

In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in 2012, Bushido was asked again that at the beginning of his career he had teamed up with “one of the most powerful Arab family clans in Berlin”. When asked whether this friendship still exists, he replied:

"We are best friends. This even goes beyond friendship status. I didn't get involved with any people, we have become what we are today. It wasn't about advantages back then. We then took our positions for years. It turns out that we all interact very well with what we can and who we are. So everyone benefited, and not just in a financial sense. "

- Interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on June 24, 2012

When the journalist found that "this family [...] is associated with the most serious organized crime", Bushido replied: "Many people are probably associated with many things". When asked that there were concrete judgments, for example because of the attack on the poker tournament in Berlin's “Hyatt” hotel in 2010, he replied: “I don't give a shit”. When the journalist pointed out that if he wanted to become politically active, it would be a problem if he was close to the mafia , the rapper replied:

“What about Berlusconi ? He wasn't convicted because of his mafia stories, but because he shot too many girls. Nobody does it better. There are only people who better keep it quiet. We are what we are."

- Interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on June 24, 2012

In April 2013 it became known that Bushido had already given the leader of the Mafia clan, Arafat Abou-Chaker , a notarized general power of attorney in December 2010 , which among other things authorized him to freely assign all of Bushido's property, his assets and his accounts as well as to conduct legally binding transactions in his name. The power of attorney, which the star has, also applies after Bushido's death. The Berlin State Criminal Police Office sees Bushido as a member of the Mafia clan and the general power of attorney as "something like Bushido's adoption certificate for his new family". The public prosecutor's office in Berlin has been conducting extensive investigations against Bushido and the clan chief Arafat Abou-Chaker, who is in close business relations with him, since 2012 because of his alleged involvement in the Mafia clan and, among other things, related tax offenses. The public prosecutor accuses them of creating an opaque, constantly changing network of companies that is typical of organized crime groups. After it was announced in 2010 that Bushido with his family and Arafat in a cult-like commune in a house in Kleinmachnow was pulled, the political scientist won Arye Sharuz Shalicar 2013 the impression that Bushido was no longer "his life Lord."

In March 2018, Bushido announced via Facebook that he had broken away from the Abou Chaker clan. In September 2018 he published his musical settlement with Arafat Abou-Chaker with the song Mephisto . In interviews, Bushido describes the relationship with the words that he had “nothing to report” and that the clan boss “simply decided everything”. At the same time, through his relationship with Ashraf Rammo, Bushido maintains contacts with the Remmo clan , which rival the Abou Chaker clan.

Lawsuits and convictions

Mayhem

Bushido was arrested on August 3, 2005 in Linz , but after paying 100,000 euros after 14 days of pre- trial detention on bail, he was released with the condition not to leave Austria until the trial. He was accused of beating up a 20-year-old man with two friends because he was said to have stabbed the tires of the 7-series BMW rented by Bushido for no reason.

The trial before the Linz Regional Criminal Court took place on November 4, 2005. The exact course of events could not be clarified. After Bushido had taken responsibility for the brawl, the proceedings ended with a diversion against payment of 20,000 euros to the state treasury. The victim was awarded partial compensation of 1,000 euros.

Alleged derogatory remarks by Bushido about the city of Linz in a trial report by the German magazine Der Spiegel (“Hart wie Nutella”, issue 45/2005) sparked violent protests from Linz mayor Franz Dobusch, among others . However, the statements in the article about Linz did not come from Bushido, but from Spiegel author Wolfgang Höbel , who defended them as his "free journalistic exaggeration". Through the process it became public that Bushido had been married for several years, which he had denied on December 20, 2005 on the television program "VIVA live".

Bushido was acquitted in February 2014 in a further trial for alleged dangerous bodily harm to a young fan at the Berlin-Tiergarten district court.

insult

Bushido has been convicted of insulting several times.

After calling two police officers "jumping jacks" and "monkeys" at a traffic control at the end of May 2009, he was fined 10,500 euros in May 2010. A second case for sexist abuse of two participants in an alternative demonstration to Christopher Street Day (CSD) in 2009 was dropped in the same session with regard to the other sentence.

In December 2011, the Tiergarten District Court sentenced Bushido to a fine of 19,500 euros after he insulted an employee of the public order office in Berlin-Steglitz as “idiots”.

In April 2012, a plaintiff and Bushido reached a settlement before the Berlin Regional Court : Bushido paid her 12,000 euros. He had made derogatory comments on her on Myspace, Facebook and Twitter.

In August 2012, a ruling was announced that obliged Bushido to pay compensation of 8,000 euros to a former participant in the television show Big Brother . Bushido had previously spoken about her on a social network and also used swear words . From the court's point of view, it was “deliberately maliciously exaggerated criticism”. The statements went “below the belt” and aimed at outward appearances.

Copyright Infringement

At the beginning of November 2007 it became known that for the track Mittelfingah , which Bushido had released together with King Orgasmus and Bass Sultan Hengzt in 2001, a sample from the song Mourning Palace by the Norwegian dark metal band Dimmu Borgir had been used without the band about it to inform. After a legal battle, Bushido had to pay compensation for copyright infringement .

The American band Nox Arcana accuses Bushido of creating the title Do you know? , Kurt Cobain and Blaues Licht from his album Von der Skyline zum Kerbstein zurück to have used music from the tracks Beyond Midnight , No Rest for the Wicked and Cthulhu Rising without prior consultation. Legal steps have been taken.

The French neoclassical band Dark Sanctuary sued Bushido because Bushido had made use of their song material in at least eight cases for the album Von der Skyline zum Bordstein zurück . An out-of-court settlement failed. The Hamburg district court sentenced Bushido on March 23, 2010 to an equity compensation for the immaterial damage in the amount of 63,000 euros. In addition, Bushido was sentenced to compensation, the amount of which was determined from the amount of phonograms sold. The 13 rejected tracks were on eleven Bushido CDs and samplers, all of which had to be removed from sale and destroyed.

Bushido had already reached an out of court settlement with the Swiss metal band Samael because he had used a sample from The Cross for his piece Disabled . He paid the group about 2000 euros.

At the end of 2013 Bushido sampled again passages of the band Dimmu Borgir and took over the intro from the title Dimmu Borgir for his title Life and Death of Kenneth Glöckler .

tax evasion

In December 2015, a tax evasion penalty was issued against him , against which he appealed. He had to pay a fine of 135,000 euros. The number of daily rates was “more than 90”.

Attempted insurance fraud

Bushido claimed to his insurance company that his business was broken into on the night of November 11th to 12th, 2014. Goods worth 175,000 euros and a safe with 185,000 euros in cash were stolen. When the insurance company became suspicious, an investigation was launched against Bushido and a house and villa that he owned were searched in November 2015. On December 16, 2016, the Tiergarten District Court issued a penalty warrant for 11 months' probation for attempted insurance fraud against Bushido, which became final on December 20. In addition, Bushido had to pay an edition of 10,000 euros.

Warnings by Bushido

Bushido is known for reacting to the distribution of the music published under his name in Internet file sharing networks with warnings . The 80 or so warnings and monetary claims against private individuals who, for example , had used the word Bushido when selling on eBay , were criticized as disproportionate and inappropriate.

Bambi Awards 2011

The awarding of the Bambi Integration Prize to the rapper in November 2011 was heavily criticized from various sides. For example, the Hessian SPD chairman Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel said that Bushido stands for misogyny and homophobia and that one can hardly speak of an integration achievement if someone stands out on the back of others. Peter Plate from the band Rosenstolz declared at his own award ceremony that someone like Bushido, who has made a career with texts that are misogynistic and gay, should not receive a Bambi just a few years later.

Pop singer Heino returned the award he had been given in 1990 a few days after the controversial Bambi award with the following reason: “I am deeply indignant that a violent criminal like Bushido is given the Bambi. I don't want to be put on the same level as this man. "

About a month after the award ceremony, the laudator Peter Maffay also criticized Bushido for having "unfortunately not followed his words with deeds", and ended the collaboration with him and Sido. Before that, the three of them had been guests on the Markus Lanz talk show , during which there had been heated arguments with other guests and the presenter.

Private

According to his account, his single mother had to earn a living as a cleaning lady. He also invited his father to his wedding in 2012, 33 years after he left the family. After the mother's death, the father, already suffering from cancer, moved in with him. He died with his family. Bushido lives in the Berlin district of Berlin Mitte . (As of September 2018).

Since 2011 he has been together with Anna-Maria Lagerblom, a sister of Sarah Connor . The couple married in May 2012. His wife brought a son from their first marriage into the relationship. A daughter was born in July 2012. In November 2013 they became parents of twins, a boy and a girl; Another son was born in the summer of 2015. According to press reports, his wife filed a criminal complaint against Bushido in December 2014 for assault in the context of domestic violence .

Controversy

Positions and lyrics

Allegation of right-wing extremism

Bushido has often been accused of nationalist and racist content and a lack of distance from right-wing extremist fans in the media . His followers, on the other hand, point to Bushido's origins or his collaboration with artists of non-German origin, such as Azad , Eko Fresh and Cassandra Steen . In interviews, Bushido rejects any right-wing extremist sentiments.

With the line “Salute, stand at attention, I'm the leader like A.” from Electro Ghetto , Bushido did not want to compare himself to Adolf Hitler . It represents a quote from Azad (from the song Der Bozz : “Kneel down, salute, stand at attention”). Bushido commented on the facts with the words: “Absolute nonsense […] I don't want to pretend to have I didn't blame the reactions too. That was just a welcome opportunity for provocation. But I find it sad that the public can be provoked so easily. "

At the end of May 2016, the Berliner Tagesspiegel reported that Bushido had expressed himself positively about the AfD in a video and intended to vote for it in the election for the Berlin House of Representatives on September 18, 2016. Bushido, according to the newspaper, “is not the first time to be committed to the AfD. In 2013 he tweeted before the general election: 'Next week I will vote for AfD' ". Shortly before the 2017 federal election , he urged his fans not to vote for the AfD.

Allegation of misogyny and homophobia

A frequent subject of discussion is also content that can be interpreted as being gay and misogynistic, sexist and glorifying violence. For example, in the song Hooker Bounce, the disparaging term " hooker " is the most commonly used word. When asked, Bushido said he wasn't talking about women in general, but rather, literally, “real sluts”. In November 2005 it hit the headlines again when Bushido made scornful comments about Paris Hilton in an interview . On the label sampler Vendetta , he refers to Natascha Kampusch in a way that many critics rated as tasteless.

Accordingly, there was also criticism of Bushido's participation in a concert organized by Bravo and VIVA at the end of August 2007 against violence in schools as part of the “Don't look away” campaign. Bushido could not act as a role model because of his "homophobic and misogynistic texts". However, since Bushido had already been involved in the project since 2006 and, according to Bravo, was very committed, a cancellation of his appearance was no longer an issue for the organizers. During the performance, Bushido spoke out aggressively against a small group of protesters organized by homosexuals. This led to renewed criticism. He protects "the image of the good, anti-racist needy migrant", so Jan Feddersen in the taz .

When participants of the Transgenial CSD sighted Bushido at the Schlesisches Tor subway station in Berlin , an argument broke out in which Bushido and demonstrators insulted each other. He is said to have insulted individual demonstrators because of their sexual orientation . He and his companions were then splashed with drinks from the demonstration. The organizers of the demonstration finally filed charges of insult.

In February 2010, Alice Schwarzer Bushido replied in an open letter to the statement he had previously made in an Internet video "[...] I would have told her, honestly, you know what, fuck your knee, you cunt , like that." Headline answer to the German rapper No. 1! Schwarzer called him a "petty bourgeois philistine who taps the really desperate", and accused him of cowardice , among other things , because he had previously rejected an invitation to a program she moderated on April 10, 2007 on ARD. In the discussion group moderated by Schwarzer that evening, People at Maischberger asked King Orgasmus One instead about the topic of earlier, harder, more unromantic - sex without love? . Other allegations were a lack of authenticity as a rapper, the financial exploitation of his fans and misogyny , although his mother had already been beaten by his father.

“And what lessons did your mother's son learn from this? Who despise violent men? No, on the contrary: you identify with the perpetrator! You too despise women. For you we are just pussies that are fucked from behind. [...] Honestly, Bushido: I can't have any respect for it. "

- Alice Schwarzer

Bushido didn't respond.

Accusation of anti-Semitism and Islamism

Bushido texts were also criticized as Islamist , anti-Semitic and anti-American . Bushido had previously denied in an interview in 2005 that he was propagating right-wing extremist or anti-Semitic tendencies and said that he was not a Nazi, Jew hater, gay hater or misogynist. However, he did not distance himself from the relevant text passages. Another song called September 11 was also criticized because the text contained passages like "I'll let you bleed like the guys from the Twin Towers ".

Accusation of endangering young people

On November 29, 2007, the music channels MTV and VIVA announced due to unspecified discrepancies that they would remove all of Bushido's videos from their program. This decision was reversed after two weeks and discussions with Bushido's label Ersguterjunge. In March 2008, on the occasion of a rape trial in Switzerland, Bushido was again criticized. Text passages from the song Drugs, Sex, Gangbang from the album Carlo Cokxxx Nutten were rated by Swiss politicians and journalists as "inhuman behavior".

The Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People also rates individual Bushido songs as harmful to young people.

Conflicts with other artists

Conflict with Fler (2004 to 2009)

In the winter of 2004/05 Bushido played a leading role in the " Beef " around Eko Fresh and in the course of this took on the disstrack FLERräter against his former partner Fler. Fler responded with the track Pussydo and Gay One , in which he attacked his label colleague Kay One as well as Bushido . In 2008 Bushido and Kay One published the "Disstrack" SIDO , on which Fler was also attacked. At the beginning of 2009 there was a reconciliation between Bushido and Fler. In the same year they released the album Carlo Cokxxx Nutten 2 , and Fler signed with Bushido's label.

Conflict with Sido (2004 to 2010)

Since Bushido had "Beef" with his old friend Fler from 2004 onwards, Sido took Fler's side, as he published on the same label. In 2008 the track SIDO by Bushido and Kay One was released. It was particularly criticized that Bushido expressed himself disparagingly about the mothers of the rappers Sido (“with your junkie mother”) and Silla (“you are unfortunately full, full of the son of a bitch”). This led to Sido responding with the song Merry Christmas and Silla with the song Happy New Year in the same year. At the end of 2010, the end of the longstanding hostility between Bushido and Sido was announced. In 2011 the joint album 23 followed .

Conflict with Kay One (since 2012)

In 2012 there was a conflict between Kay One and his former friend and label boss Bushido. On April 10, 2012, Kay One announced that he would say goodbye to the Ersguterjunge label. Five days earlier, Bushido had registered the word mark “Kay One” with the German Patent and Trademark Office . Kay One commented negatively about it and said that one wanted to end his career. An objection was initially raised against the registration of the word mark and an application for deletion was finally made a year later.

In May 2012, Kay One said he was attacked with knives by masked people after two appearances, although he was not injured. He accused Bushido of having sent these people to him and accused him of a crime; Bushido denied these allegations.

In May 2013, Bushido's colleague Shindy , who was also in a dispute with Kay One, published the Disstrack Alcoholized Pedophile . In this, he assumed Kay, among other things, to have written the lyrics for his album Prince of Belvedair without ever having received any money for it. However, the accusation of pedophilia against Kay and his stepfather Olliwood caused a particular stir . Kay had the Disstrack blocked shortly afterwards and shortly afterwards announced on Facebook that she would bring the whole truth to light. On August 1, 2013, the disstrack Nothing but Truth by Kay One was released, whereby the latter emphasized that the song was not a diss , but simply the truth. In the song, Kay One raps about his past with Bushido and Shindy. There he claimed, among other things, that not he, but Shindy and Bushido were pedophiles and Bushido had cheated on his own wife with a seventeen-year-old girl. Bushido then announced on YouTube that they would also release a Disstrack. Another climax of the dispute occurred when Kay One was a guest on Stern TV and spoke about Bushido's Mafia affair. He claimed that like Bushido he was a “slave of the family” and that Bushido himself wanted to flee Berlin.

Bushido's answer followed on November 22, 2013 under the name of Kenneth Glöckler's life and death on his official YouTube channel. The eleven-minute disstrack reflects Kay One's career and says that he abandoned each of his old comrades just to make a lot of money. The Disstrack reached the 1 million click mark in seven hours and set a new record. Kay One has been under police protection since he published Bushido's relationships with the Abou Chaker clan because he received death threats.

Following an announcement in August 2014, the answer to Bushido's Disstrack was finally released on November 28, 2014 in the form of a 25-minute video entitled Judgment Day .

Attitude to the State of Israel

In January 2013, Bushido posted a map of the Middle East on his Twitter profile with the subtitle Free Palestine . On the map, the Palestinian Territories and Israel were colored in red-white-black-green, the national colors of the Palestinians. Foreign politicians from various parties were outraged by this. The chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag Ruprecht Polenz (CDU) considered the picture to be unacceptable, as it called Israel's right to exist in question and such representations were previously known "from Hamas and other extremist Palestinian organizations". Federal Minister of the Interior Hans-Peter Friedrich (CSU) commented on the picture as follows: “This map picture does not serve peace, it sows hatred. Bushido must immediately remove this picture from his Twitter page, otherwise he can no longer serve as an example of successful integration. ”The Israeli embassy in Berlin published a statement on its official Twitter account which ironically said:“ First women, then gays, now Israel: we are proud to be among the victims of the integration award winner Bushido. "

Threats of violence against politicians and celebrities; complaint

Due to the song Stress Without Reason , published with Shindy , Bushido was accused of inciting against gays and threatening violence. In the lyrics, the politicians Serkan Tören ( FDP ), Claudia Roth ( Greens ) and Klaus Wowereit ( SPD ), the entertainer Oliver Pocher and the rapper Kay One are mentioned by name.

Serkan Tören and Klaus Wowereit thereupon filed criminal charges against Bushido.

The Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People indicated the CD NWA on July 16, 2013 by way of a provisional order. “With the publication of the indexing in the Federal Gazette, the music CD is subject to the extensive distribution and advertising restrictions of the Youth Protection Act. In particular, it may only be sold to adults in separate shops or only 'under the counter', no longer advertised in public and not sold by mail order. ”As part of an investigation against Bushido and Shindy, employees of the Public prosecutor's office and the Berlin State Criminal Police Office issued judicial search and confiscation orders for a Berlin music label.

The indexing of the Federal Inspectorate was confirmed on September 5, 2013, but Bushido's complaint was successful before the Higher Administrative Court in Münster, because the Federal Inspectorate did not adequately appreciate artistic freedom.

On September 17, 2013, the public prosecutor's office in Berlin brought charges against Bushido for sedition , insult and violence because of these texts . On November 22, 2013, the Tiergarten District Court dismissed the indictment with reference to artistic freedom ; the prosecution appealed against the dismissal of the charges. In March 2014, the Berlin Regional Court rejected the prosecutor's complaint because the offense of sedition was not met and the insult was covered by artistic freedom.

Bundestag internship

Bushido completed an internship with the CDU politician Christian von Stetten in the Bundestag in June 2012 , which was met with media coverage because he announced his intention to found a party, go into local politics and want to govern like The Godfather , which was due to his criminal past and controversial texts was criticized.

After the media reported on Bushido’s connection to the Mafia in April 2013, the Bundestag also dealt with Bushido. The SPD parliamentary group leader Thomas Oppermann criticizes the CDU for its casual dealings with the rapper: “If Bushido has close contacts to organized crime, he has no business in the Bundestag. That he goes in and out of the CDU and also meets Interior Minister Friedrich there for talks is not okay. "
