The 2001/02 Copa del Rey was the 98th edition of the Spanish Football Cup.

The competition started on September 6, 2001 and ended with the final on March 6, 2002 in the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu ( Madrid ). The defending champion of the cup competition was Real Saragossa . Deportivo La Coruña won the title by beating Real Madrid 2-1 in the final . Since both finalists qualified for the UEFA Champions League in the 2001/02 season , the starting place for the 2002/03 UEFA Cup fell to the seventh-placed Primera División ( Deportivo Alavés ).
