Raúl , full name Raúl González Blanco , (born June 27, 1977 in Madrid ) is a Spanish football coach and former player. The long-time captain and record players from Real Madrid won three times the Champions League . Raúl was considered a dangerous, dribbling, light-footed and very fair player who could be used in attacking midfield as well as on the left or right wing .
Club career
As a teenager, Raúl first played for San Cristóbal de Los Ángeles , a team in the Los Ángeles district of Madrid , where he lived with his family. At the age of 13 he moved to Atlético Madrid . Raúl then moved to local rivals Real Madrid in the summer of 1992 , where he played for the U-16 ( Cadete A ), U-18 ( Juvenil B ) and U-19 ( Juvenil A ). In 1994 he moved to the C team , where he scored 13 goals in the first seven games.

In Madrid he soon became a symbol and the legitimate successor of Emilio Butragueño , whose shirt number he took over. Raúl scored seven goals in 29 games in his first season and became the Spanish champions. He grew to become a key player with a considerable share of Real's great successes ( Champions League victories in 1998 , 2000 and 2002 ; championship titles in 1997 , 2001 , 2003 , 2007 and 2008 ; World Cup victories in 1998 and 2002 ).
