Peter Karlsson (born August 4, 1961 in Kisa ) is a former Swedish football player . The striker won the title of Allsvenskan top scorer in the first division season in 1985 .

Career

Karlsson started his adult career playing for Åtvidabergs FF . Before the 1984 season he moved to the newly promoted Kalmar FF in the Allsvenskan. With the club, where he formed the storm duo with the Englishman Billy Lansdowne , he reached the championship finals, in which the team failed in the quarter-finals at Hammarby IF . The following year he finished second with the team in the regular season, to which he contributed ten goals this season. So he crowned himself with his strike partner Lansdowne and Sören Börjesson from Örgryte IS to the top scorer of the Swedish elite series. In the final round, however, the team lost in the semifinals against eventual champions Örgryte IS, before they could not build on success the following year and were relegated to the second-rate Division 1 .

Karlsson left the club after relegation and moved to Örgryte IS. At the Gothenburg club he continued to show his scoring danger and scored 30 goals in three years, only in the 1988 season made it into the championship finals, in which the team failed at the beginning of the eventual champions Malmö FF . He then returned from the 1990 season to the second-rate Kalmar FF and ran for the team until 1995 with a short break in the winter break 1992/93 when he briefly went for goals for the Portuguese club União Leiria .

Karlsson later became a youth coach at Kalmar FF.
