- Easter Sunday: Louis Trousselier wins the Paris – Roubaix race .
- June 18th : The first event takes place on the newly built St. Gallen Velorennbahn . The official opening takes place one week later.
- 9. bis 30th July : Louis Trousselier wins the 1905 Tour de France .
- July 16 , 21 and 23 : The 1905 UCI Track World Championships take place on the Antwerp Velodrome.
- September 7th : The Cologne – Wroclaw long-distance cycle tour begins . It is the longest cycle race ever held on German soil. The winner is Otto Goetzke from Berlin , who needs 54 hours, 37 minutes and 50 seconds for the route.
- Mid-October: The Lombardy Tour is held for the first time. The winner is Giovanni Gerbi .

- April 8 : In Berlin are world championships held in wrestling.
- June 11th : Duisburg hosts an "unofficial" world championship tournament .

- March 18 : Wales wins the 1905 Home Nations Championship .
- September 16 : The Original All Blacks , the New Zealand national team , embark on a five-month tour of the British Isles, France and the United States. Of the 35 games they have played during that time, they only lose one against Wales.
swim
- December 3 : Zoltán von Halmay , Hungary, swims the 100 meters freestyle in Vienna in 01: 05.8. This first swimming record will last for almost three years .

- April 22nd / 23rd : The second World Gymnastics Championships take place in Bordeaux . There are only five competitions for men: all- around , horizontal bar , parallel bars , pommel horse , and a team competition. The dominant nation is France, which can secure almost all medals.

- January: The Austrian ski pioneer Mathias Zdarsky carries out the first steep descent.
- January 22nd : The Austrian Max Bohatsch wins the European figure skating championship in 1905 in Bonn.
- February 4 to 12 : In Stockholm and Östersund, the Nordic Games will be held for the second time in a four-year cycle comparable to the Olympic Games .
- February 5th / 6th : The World Figure Skating Championship in Stockholm in 1905 as part of the Nordic Games is the last one where there is only one men's competition. World champion Ulrich Salchow of Sweden against European champion Max Bohatsch.
- March 19 : After inventing a new ski swing near Lilienfeld, Mathias Zdarsky organized the first slalom run in ski history .
