Lasserrade (until February 2020 Lasserade , gaskognisch : La Serrada) is a French commune with 197 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitania region ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Mirande and community association Communauté de communes Bastides et Vallons du Gers .

geography

Lasserade is about 42 kilometers (as the crow flies) west of the city of Auch and 44 kilometers north of Tarbes in the west of the Gers department. The place is part of the Côtes de Saint-Mont wine-growing region and the Armagnac brandy region . Numerous bodies of water arise, lie or cross the municipal area. The most important are the Arros and Midou rivers . There are also several small dams in the municipality. The community is close to the regional transport links D3 / D946 and D935. The closest bus stop is Cahuzac-sur-Adour on line 940 Tarbes - Mont-de-Marsan.

Lasserade is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pouydraguin in the north. Loussous-Débat in the northeast, Couloumé-Mondebat in the east, Beaumarchés in the southeast and south, Plaisance in the southwest and west and Tasque in the northwest.

history

The municipality is historically located within Gascony and belongs to the Bas-Armagnac region . From 1793 to 1801 Lasserade belonged to the district of Nogaro and from 1793 to 2015 to the canton of Plaisance .

As of February 2020, the name of the municipality was officially changed from Lasserade to Lasserrade .
