The Football League Championship 2010/11 was the seventh season of the English Football League Championship and at the same time the 19th season of the top division of the Football League - after the introduction of the Premier League - as only the second highest English league. The season began on August 6, 2010 with the opening match between Norwich City and Watford FC (final score: 2: 3); the final matchday took place on May 7, 2011. Norwich City, Leeds United and Millwall FC were promoted. Burnley FC , Hull City and Portsmouth FC , who complete the field of 24 teams , were relegated from the Premier League last year .
